Amit Kumar Singh

Amit Singh is a founder and CEO of WPoets technology. He been working with WordPress since 2007, and contributed his first WordPress plugin to WordPress.org repository in 2008.

He has helped organize PHPCamp, WordCamp, Joomla Day and Drupal camp in Pune. He believes that instead of coding websites, we should be able to assemble it, and is working towards that goal at WPoets. You can follow him on Twitter @thecancerus

Harish Iyer

Preetinder is Founder & CEO of CityIT and loves all things open source. He is a regular contributor & promoter of open source software.

He has built his team and company around two popular open source systems WordPress & Drupal and is using & following WordPress / Drupal from about 9 years and can help you build almost anything using Open source software.

He believes passion and persistence are keys to success and everyone should follow their passion. When not working on new ideas / opportunities, he loves to spend time with his family and exploring new places.

Saurabh Shukla

Saurabh has an opinion on everything and is often seen battling wits with his friends. He’s a serial WordCamp speaker and organiser of the local meetup group.

He’s an amateur poet, bench philosopher, writer and developer in equal parts and is super excited about the WordPress community in India.

Aditya Kane

Aditya loves WordPress because he is an anarchist and works on WordPress for a living at rtCamp. He spends time on meetups, WordCamps and the community as part of general good karma.

Shaunak De

Shaunak is a coder, a research felllow at IIT Bombay, teacher, writer, artist and budding standup comic. He’s very familiar with WordPress and interested in all things content as well as code.

He started tinkering with computers when he was a child, and has not stopped since. He lives, breathes and teaches web-development, security and computer science. Code-chef who turns complicated nerd-fodder into easy geek-chow.

Ramya Pandyan

IdeaSmith is the digital doppelganger of Ramya Pandyan (intrepid train-traveller and frequent spouter of post-midnight rhymes and rants). As IdeaSmith she battles obscurity and slays boredom with her stories about men, books, digitalia and Mumbai. She performs live and also blogs, tweets, Instagrams, Facebooks, +G’s, Youtubes and Goodreads all as IdeaSmith.

She also runs a forum for aspiring writers called Alphabet Sambar, which brings the Word Lounge to WordCamp Pune 2015. Ramya’s verbal performances air at The Idea-smithy and XX Factor. Tweet-bomb her at @ideasmithy.

Michael Eisenwasser

Michael is a BuddyPress enthusiast, with experience designing and building themes and plugins.

He is co-founder of BuddyBoss, a company that helps entrepreneurs to create successful BuddyPress communities. He previously managed the development and growth of SongLyrics.com, one of the most highly-trafficked websites in the world with over 100 million annual visitors. He has spoken at BuddyCamp Brighton (UK), WordCamp Miami, WordCamp Columbus, and several universities about BuddyPress and web design.

Raghavendra Peri

Raghavendra is a Digital Accessibility Consultant at Deque Systems. He is also a Digital Marketing Strategist, Speaker, and Blogger & Entrepreneur. At the age of 8, he was diagnosed with a degenerative eye condition called Retinitis pigmentosa that rendered him totally blind at the age of 26.But that did not stop him from pursuing his dreams. He keeps himself actively involved in the technology space & uses various assistive technologies in his day to day life.

He loves travelling, listening to audio books, partying, socializing, trekking, running & giving motivational talks at schools & colleges, apart from his day today work.

Vachan Kudmule

Vachan became an entrepreneur in 2002, at 17, when he started his firm KDC (Krazy Devil Creationz). It has grown into a full-fledged web solutions agency. He’s studied architecture and started his second firm KDC Inc in 2006 which provides architecture and interior design solutions. He ventured into eCommerce Consulting in 2009 and started KDC Pay which assists startups in building full fledged eCommerce sites with Payment Gateway accruing and integration. At present Vachan is involved with all the three while also heading the design and technology teams for White Shadows, a digital marketing agency.

Vachan’s motto is “everything can and must be designed”. He’s passionate about FOSS (Free Open Source Software) and helping start-ups grow their business. Self learning and exploring new ideas keeps him motivated and he has pioneered many industry first concepts in alternative access mediums. He’s presently experimenting with Native Mobile App Development.

Alexander Gounder

Alex is an SEO / SEM, Internet Marketer with a wide variety of work experience across industries and domains like Films, TV Production, Customer Service, Politics, Government Operations, Press Relations, Graphic & Web Design to finally Internet Marketing & SEO.

Nisha Singh

Nisha Singh is a Quality Analyst at WPoets Technology LLP. She is also a member of WordPress theme review team since 2010 and has reviewed more then 1300 tickets on WordPress theme trac.

If there’s someone who knows what makes a theme good or bad, it’s Nisha. She is also the best person to know if your theme would make it to the WordPress repository!

Sathish Nagarajan

Sathish is a Founder and CEO of SNR Technologies. He’s been a proud WordPress evangelist since 2007 when he started coding with WordPress. He’s a PHP programmer, UI designer, WordCamp Speaker and a contributor to WordPress 4.0.

His organization SNR Technologies has been helping brands with website designing, web and mobile applications development and market them for a decade. They have worked with popular brands such as Jabong, PayU, TataSky etc.

His interest towards finding solutions for business problems using technology pushes him to learn and work on other technologies. He is in the pursuit of knowledge of technology that could help businesses and mankind.

Andy Christian

Andy is a Happiness Engineer at Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, Jetpack, Akismet and more. He’s a member of the WordPress.org Community Contributor group, and has organised, volunteered, or spoken at over two dozen WordCamps.

Hailing from New York City, Andy is currently travelling around the world in an attempt to meet as many WordPressers as possible.

Siddharth Ashok

Siddharth Ashok is a Front-End and WordPress developer working with the Swedish web agency Next Big Thing and lives in Panaji, Goa.

He’s been using WordPress for almost a decade and has followed its journey from being just a blogging platform to CMS.  Along with WordPress, he’s deeply interested in questions like ‘What makes good User Experience?’ and ‘What constitutes good design?’, and likes to play around with User Interaction components and the interaction itself.

Jeremy Herve

Jeremy loves to make people happy. Lucky for him, that’s what he does
for a living at Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com. There,
he divides his days between helping site owners use the Jetpack
plugin, leading the Jetpack support team, and hiring new folks into
the Automattic family.

When he’s not in front of his laptop at home in
Budapest, Hungary, he is probably in front of another screen: his
passions away from the computer are cinema, TV series, and science
fiction books.

Joshua Abenazer

Joshua is a Web Engineer at 10up who has been putting his WordPress expertise to good use by helping the wider community. He’s amongst the top 6% for WordPress on StackExchange; he earned bragging rights and some goodies by reaching the top 50 within two months of joining!

He’s also a proud contributor to WordPress 3.8 and 3.9, and maintains a couple of plugins and themes on the WordPress repository.

When he’s not building powerful websites with WordPress, he cycles around town, swims, exercises, and frequently travels to exciting places.

Rahul Bansal

Rahul Bansal is the founder and CEO of rtCamp. He’s been using WordPress since 2007. Starting out as a blogger, he moved on to developing with WordPress within a year. He started one of the earliest WordPress only agencies in India which forayed into WordPress products with a great reception, all around.

His organisation, rtCamp, is one of the leading contributors from the country to the WordPress project in various ways.

He’d love to see everyone’s WordPress sites on Nginx and hence run faster. That’s why, these days, he’s focused on making WordPress on Nginx simple, user-friendly and accessible through the EasyEngine project.

Gagan Deep Singh

Gagan has nearly a decade of coding experience. He began his career working in one of the best WordPress agencies in Pune. He now works independently, freelancing on WordPress projects, managing servers and automating everything he can. According to him, there is no problem that WordPress can’t solve.

An active contributor to wordpress.org, he can be found helping other members in the support forums, translating WordPress in other languages and as a plugin author with over 530,250 plugin downloads.

When not coding for clients or co-organising WordPress meetups, he’s found either riding his motorcycle across India’s beautiful landscape or practising his origami skills.

Karthikraj Magapu

Karthik is Co-Founder and Chief Explorer of Hummingbird Web Solutions (hbwsl.com) which builds Open Source products for Web Developers and Web Designers. WordPress is a big part of what he does with WPeka (club.wpeka.com), CyberChimps(cyberchimps.com), SlideDeck(slidedeck.com) and DealFuel(dealfuel.com).

He teaches Yoga, has been trying to learn to ride a Unicycle for a decade and loves Open Source.

Shrikant Joshi

After a long day at work, college or school, when Pune heads home, the one person who ALWAYS accompanies them, without fail is apna “Pune ka Raja” Shrikant. Born with a sense of punny, tongue-in-cheek humor, Shrikant is a lovable know-it-all about anything and everything weird happening in Pune and across the world. He loves technology and is constantly trying to learn all things new.

His show, MH935, is a light-hearted and fun-filled journey between 5 pm and 9 pm on weekdays. Shrikant fills the show with lots of information and entertainment while you return from a long day at college, work or ahem anywhere else! Armed with smart one-liners and funny parodies rap-ishtyle on the topics-du-jour Shrikant lives life by the mantra: Laughter is the shortest distance between two people.

Jitesh Patil

Jitesh is a mobile and web programmer from Solapur. He has been using WordPress for the last 2 years. Apart from building small business websites using WordPress, he regularly conducts theme development workshops for beginners.

When he doesn’t build with WordPress, he shifts his attention to building Android apps and is quite good at it. In fact, he was the winner of the Samsung Appsolute Challenge in 2012.

Jitesh doesn’t just write and teach code. He loves to read, loves to eat and sometimes likes to cook. He’s also an active Rotarian and enjoys organising youth programs.

He lives in the quaint city of Solapur with his parents, wife Vaishali and daughter Tanisha.

Shilpa Shah

Shilpa joined the WordPress party a little late but has been completely enamoured by the WordPress community sincethen. She co-founded Hummingbird Web Solutions in 2011 which nurtures a number of popular WordPress products ( SlideDeck, CyberChimps , WPeka Club, WPAuctionSoftware and SurveyFunnel).

She was bitten by the travel bug pretty early on and was lucky enough to have a job (in her earlier corporate avatar) that took her to various countries, meeting some truly wonderful people everywhere!

She enjoys dancing in the rain, trekking, camping in the wild. She has also been learning to play the guitar for 5 years now — hopes to play an entire song properly some day. Soon.

Priyanka Goyal

Priyanka is a web developer with a special interest in WordPress. She has been using WordPress for developing websites for clients for about 2 years now and loves to explore the possibilities of WordPress.

She likes to extend features of existing plugins to match her clients’ needs. She’s developed her plugin and theme development skills this way. The WP_Query class is her favorite of everything that is WordPress. She’s looking to develop a plugin for easier Contact and Enquiry management in the near future.

Prior to exploring her coding chops, Priyanka was a teacher and still loves to train new hires in her team. She loves interacting with beginners and regularly conducts training sessions at CityIT, her organisation.

Topher DeRosia

His full name is Christopher DeRosia; Topher comes from the second half of Christopher. He started building web sites with plain html on a VAX VMS system in 1994 but switched to PHP/FI when it came out. He was using plain PHP/MySQL until 2010 when WordPress 3.0 came out with Custom Post Types. Since then, he hasn’t really built with anything else. He’s been a freelancer, the CTO of a Startup, a super hero with X-Team, and now documents Easy Digital Downloads.

He’s married, has 2 teen daughters and two cute little dogs. He lives in the small city of Grand Rapids MI, where it rarely gets above 30C, but occasionally gets below -30C. It’s a very snowy world in the winter.

Puneet Sahalot

Puneet’s first encounter with WordPress was when he started blogging at a then popular social media blog.  Later he started with WordPress development, co-founded a city blog which received great response and became the most popular of all the local blogs.

After more than 5 years of freelancing, he now runs a web design and development agency where all their web projects are proudly powered by WordPress. In between, he tried hands at building and selling WordPress themes and WP maintenance services. These were fairly successful however their main success was in helping him lay a strong foundation for his agency.

Mahangu Weerasinghe

Hailing from Colombo, Sri Lanka, Mahangu first found WordPress when he stumbled upon 0.70 in the dark recesses of #wordpress on Freenode. He has used and provided support for every major release of the software, and is excited about the impact the platform can have on South Asia.

Though once a high school English teacher, his desire to make online publishing more democratic led him to Automattic, where he now works as a Happiness Engineer. He sincerely believes that stellar support will play a pivotal role in helping WordPress power the next 24% of the web!

Sagar Jadhav

Sagar Jadhav from Pune is a Product Head with rtCamp. He’s been building, websites, themes and theme-frameworks for six years now and is one of the best front-end developers around.

Looking at his body of work, it’d be hard to believe that Sagar started off as a Photoshop expert and today is a proud core contributor to WordPress 4.2. All because WordPress charmed him and he fell for it!

He loves building modern, user friendly web sites and applications and hence actively seeks out new technologies that help him stay up to date.

Arun Prabhudesai

Arun is an entrepreneur, blogger and internet addict. After a 12 year stint in the IT Industry across three continents, he came back to India to start on his own. His two startups have had mixed success.

He is the founder of Armoks Interactive Labs and the founder-editor at Trak.in. Trak.in is one of the most popular virtual destination for Indian technology news and views. He and a team of passionate writers present insightful and analytical stories on technology, telecom and the startup world.

Minesh Shah

Hailing from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Minesh is a passionate PHP developer. From 2008 to 2014 he grew very fond of the MVC architecture and worked extensively with CakePHP.

In 2014, he joined OnTheGoSystems and was introduced to WordPress. Along with the excitement of mastering a new platform, WordPress gave him a lot of joy. He continues feeling the same delight while working with the WPML and Toolset plugins at OnTheGoSystems.

Ankit Gade

Ankit started his professional career with open source technologies like PHP and MySQL. Before he could start anything else, he chanced upon WordPress and since then he fell in love with WordPress development.

He has authored a couple of plugins in the WordPress.org plugin repository. Of all his plugins, he’s especially proud of “Woocommerce simply order export” which is fairly popular among WooCommerce users. Ankit has been working with OnTheGoSystems since April 2015 and looks after WPML Support.

Harshad Mane

WordPress has been Harshad’s platform of choice for development for over seven years, now. He joined OnTheGoSystems (the makers of WPML, WCML, Views, Types, CRED and Layout) in December of 2011.

At work, Harshad writes code that helps other developers in making their own plugins or themes compatible with WPML and hopefully accumulates a lot of good karma in the process. When away from computer Harshad enjoys doing yoga, listening to music and thinking about going back to the computer! 🙂

Bigul Malayi

Bigul is from Kozhikode, Kerala. He started his career as a core PHP developer in 2005. In 2008 he came across WordPress and a year later, he was developing WordPress websites for clients. Since January of 2012 he’s been working as a QA Analyst with OnTheGoSystems.

Bigul credits WordPress as his bread and butter. To return the favour, he frequently speaks and educates users about multi-lingual websites and translating WordPress.

Sumit Singh

Sumit swings both ways in the WordPress ecosystem. He’s both a developer and a blogger who writes about technology, tips and tricks for smartphones, the internet, code and above all, WordPress.

Having started his WordPress career in 2012, he’s recently joined OnTheGoSystems’ support team for WPML. When not working, Sumit spends time blogging, exploring CSS, listening to music, watching movies and giving in to his addiction to caffeine!

Joe Guilmette

Originally from San Francisco, Joe is a Bangkok based WordPress developer. He spends about half the year on the road, often working with limited internet connectivity and a distributed team. Coding from airplanes, buses, boats, and cafes around the world, he quickly felt the need for a robust local/remote workflow.

Joe wears many hats, including project management, development, and lead customer support roles for Soflyy, running a small WordPress studio, and co-organising the WordPress Bangkok Meetup group. In his free time he enjoys SCUBA diving, travelling, long walks on the beach, and harassing his roommate’s cat.

Gaurav Pareek

A Web developer, UI/UX hacker, Free Software activist, Doctor Who fan and all round geek. Gaurav discovered WordPress in 2009 and fell in love. He even ran a web development services company for 5 years completely revolving around WordPress. Primarily a theme developer, he also dabbles in non-traditional uses of WordPress.

When not doing his job as a web developer or geeking out on science fiction stuff, he dabbles in accessibility tech, bash, python, Linux desktop software, 3D design, music, and cooking. He aspires to start a social enterprise for accessibility related technology someday.

Sudar Muthu

Sudar has been programming for more than a decade and is a polyglot. He has written production code in more than half a dozen programming languages – and most of it was using Vim!

Sudar first discovered WordPress in late 2005 while searching for a self hosted blogging platform for his migration away from Blogger. After tinkering with WordPress for his blog, he published his first WordPress plugin in late 2007 and has since continued to release more than 20 plugins with a total of nearly half a million downloads. Akshay Raje

Akshay discovered WordPress in 2008 and has been in love with it since then. He started moonlighting on small client projects and custom plugin development. He subsequently tried to bootstrap a WordPress services firm just to discover that services is not something that he wants to do for a living.

He does customer support for WP All Import and also supports a couple of WordPress plugins authored by him. He aspires to build a successful WordPress product company some day.
